Health Care Reform: What You Can Do According to Majority Whip James E. Clyburn

This past Sunday, September 13, 2009 Congressman James E. Clyburn spoke to members and friends of the Florida Avenue Baptist Church at a reception following morning worship about what they could do individually and collectively as concerned citizens and Christians to make their voices heard more effectively in the fight for Health Care Reform in this country. Paraphrasing what he said:
Start writing letters and making phone calls to your elected officials/representatives. Tell your friends to do the same. Pass the word and get the message out. Let your elected representatives and those in the media know that you support the President’s Health Care Plan.
Earlier this year Clyburn introduced the Access for All Americans Act. The $26 billion sought by this Act would provide funding to quadruple the number of community health centers in the US that provide medical care to uninsured and low-income citizens.
Clyburn also delivered a sermon earlier from the pulpit citing scripture from the book of Micah 6:6-8 which reads in part:
“And what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness,And to walk humbly with your God?…”
