Did someone say the “Green Woodstock”?

John Mayer,Dave Matthews Band,Snoop Dogg and other bands(more) to perform at inaugural environmentally sound music festival Rothbury,which kicks off on July 3 ,2008 in Rothbury,Michigan.

The festivals organizers goal is to draw attention to climate change and clean energy alternatives.The weekend will feature a think tank featuring panel discussions on various climate concerns, an energy fair where attendees can get their hands on related technology and products, and the festivals’ campgrounds will strive for a zero-waste experience via composting, carbon-offsetting and more strategies (alternative lodging will also be available for festival-goers who don’t want to pitch a tent). The initial line up includes more than seventy bands on eight stages.

The first round of tickets go on sale February 27th,2008 on Rothbury Music Festival’s official website site.

Other performers in addition to John Mayer,Dave Matthews and Snoop Dogg include:

John Mayer is headlining the VH1 Save the Music Foundation 10th anniversary celebration at Lincoln Center in New York, Thursday,September 20. The gala celebration will honor founder John Sykes and foundation supporter NAMM: The International Music Products Association,former President Bill Clinton,Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Mariah Carey(more…).

In addition to Mayer, the event will also feature performances by Bon Jovi, Roger Waters and the VH1 Save the Music Foundation Student Orchestra, as well as a live auction emceed by Project Runway star Tim Gunn.

Two tickets are available via auction for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation 10th Anniversary Gala, held in New York City on Thursday, September 20, 2007. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Save The Music Foundation, and the Gala will also feature performances by Roger Waters and Jon Bon Jovi. The cocktail reception begins at 6:00p.m. and dinner is at 7:00p.m.

    This is a Heavier Octaves Public Service Announcement. We strive to keep our listeners up to date about good things going on in the world,so they can make their own decisions about how to get involved. When possible,we provide playlists of our favorite musicians performing live. Don’t Give Up Africa-(Click here to download track) In addition to raising funds for the organization for purchase of medication for children in Africa suffering, and many still dying from AIDS,from the song performed by Alicia Keys,former spokesperson and continued friend of KCA, and Bono,-“Don’t Give Up Africa”-the organization has recently launched the KCA College Program.

    Keep A Child Alive (KCA) has initiated the KCA College Program, which was started to involve college students in the fight against AIDS in Africa.

    Keep a Child Alive believes, as history has proven, that when mobilized, college students have a very powerful impact on the world. With 40 million people living with HIV/AIDS and half of all new infections occurring in people under the age of 25, it is imperative that college students collectively join the fight against AIDS (More…)
